Dental Sealants

Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your molars, dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic coating is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively seals the deep grooves where decay is most likely to start.

Children benefit greatly from dental sealants because thoroughly brushing back teeth can be difficult for kids. If Dr. Jackson recommends dental sealants for your child, don't worry about professional removal of the sealant. The material will wear off naturally and safely over the years, providing a strong shield against decay at first, then simply dissolving when the child is old enough to no longer need the protection.

We may also recommend supplemental fluoride treatments or a fluoride mouthwash for your children. Fluoride is a mineral that attracts other minerals to create a strong defense against tooth decay. While most tap water now has fluoride, bottled water does not. Kids who primarily drink bottled water may need a supplement to replenish their fluoride level.

Our Carrollton dental office serves patients from across the DFW area, including those from Dallas, Lewisville, Plano, The Colony, Coppell, and beyond. Call today to schedule your consultation with Dr. Jackson and set out on a road for lifetime oral wellness and an unforgettable smile.
